Job Ref: 24405 – Petroleum Data Bank Officer position with Ministry of Mines in Kabul

The Petroleum Data Bank Officer will support the General Manager of the Petroleum Registry in the Afghanistan Petroleum Authority to manage and organize all incoming hydrocarbon data from contracted companies in Afghanistan for the Ministry of Mines.

The Petroleum Data Bank Officer will be working in close collaboration with the General Manager of Petroleum Registry and relevant department in the MoM, Afghanistan Geology Survey, and other stakeholders. The successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination, development, integration and implementation of databases for APA. This includes coordinating data collection, loading, and verification activities to meet the needs of APA. Other activities include development of procedures for management and security of the data, creation of regular reports derived from the data bases to meet the requirements of the APA, and the introduction of data base capabilities to other APA personnel. The data would include but not be limited to the following data types; tender, exploration, production, contractual, seismic, and well log. He/She will be expected to perform the following tasks:
