Afghan Telecom Signs Agreement of GSM and 3G Equipment with ZTE Company

To sign the agreement a media conference was held on Tuesday, 20th Nov, 2012, at Ministry of Communication & IT (MCIT). With the participation of H.E. Eng. Amirzai Sangin Minister and leadership MCIT, Mr. Gul Ahmad Rastman, Director General of Afghan Telecom, leadership body of ZTE Company and media attended the conference.

H.E. Amirzai Sangin said signing the agreement between Afghan Telecom and ZTE Company indicates another valuable progress toward expanding telecommunications and internet services. H. E. Sangin mentioned that in spite of tremendous achievements there are some areas which are not covered yet by Telecommunication services and some districts due to security problems are not able to have 24 hours service as well.

Therefore, to eliminate the above mentioned problems MCIT plans to apply GSM and 3G services with 100 million dollars investment in next two years. This contract was signed for $32 million dollars between Afghan Telecom and ZTE. Afghan Telecom will receive 700 telecommunication towers from ZTE.

This project will be practically utilized in 1392 and Resident of Kabul city will get benefit from this project in the first month of 1392
